Supporting pupils with a range of specific learning difficulties can have its own, unique challenges but can be equally incredibly rewarding 

If you have a passion for working with pupils with SEND including in a mainstream environment, this training is for you.

What to expect from the role

Every day could be so different & so rewarding.

Being aware of your pupils' individual needs will have such a positive impact on how you can support them, encouraging them to become more independent, managing their anxieties & stress levels & building

self- esteem.

You may be working with pupils on a 1:1 or supporting the teacher in the classroom.

Pupils may have a range of complex needs such as:

Severe learning difficulties

Physical difficulties

Communication difficulties

Complex medical needs

Mild or severe Autism

Course Content

This training will prepare you by introducing you to a toolkit of strategies that you can apply in your setting as well as understanding more about the pupils you may be working with.

We will cover the basics of:

Makaton

PECs

Team Teach

Autism Awareness

SEND code of practice

Looking at a range of complex needs that you may be working with

Follow Up

Q & A available after the session

Opportunity to  connect with others working within the same field as you, to share good practice & experience or just keep in touch

You'll receive course notes, activities & certificate after the session
