Kate Bellavia
Educational Trainer & Mentor

My journey into Education started back in 1991.  Acknowledging that a career working with children was where I wanted to be was confirmed at my interview to join the PGCE program at Leicester University. The task:

"You have 20 minutes to plan 8 subjects for a Yr. 2 class. The starfish will be your focus!" A chance to use my creativity to inspire children to learn. I was hooked.

Roles included class teacher, advanced skills teacher of performing arts, lead mentor for post graduate students. I then moved into Senior Leadership as Head of Literacy, Key Stage 1, & pupil behaviour & well-being.

After 25yrs I decided it was time to leave the classroom & explore different routes in education. Taking the opportunity to travel I went overseas working with communities in Fiji, volunteer teaching in the beautiful Island schools.

On my return, I was inspired to take on a new direction in Education. I had acquired so much experience & knowledge to share, but still wanted to impact on the thing I cared about most in Education - the children.

I landed my dream role in London with an Education supply agency, as Head of CPD.  For the last 4 years I've had the privilege of training, supporting & connecting with teachers & support staff, both UK based & overseas, up-skilling & building confidence to progress on their own learning paths.

As Director of Bellavia Training I am passionate, committed & excited to continue this role supporting both existing & the next generation of staff in educational settings.
